My Profile

Heartfelt Cases Book 1: The Collins Case “This was a great read. I love a good mystery and adventure. I read the eBook quite some time ago and it is such a good read I enjoyed it as much listening to it now. This book added the special quality of being a clean, Christian story. Looking forward to the next one. The narration was very good. Brought the characters and story to life. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
A Pomegranate and the Maiden “I have always loved mythology, so the book really struck a chord with me. The characters are fun and interesting, the story fascinating. There is romance as well as mystery and suspense. Good reading! The author was the narrator and she did a wonderful job. She brought the story to life. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Taildragger Tales – My Late-Blooming Romance with a Piper Cub and Her Younger Sisters “My first plane ride was in a Piper Cub and I was thrilled. This book was interesting and it was fun to learn more about the plane. I got a little lost in all the technical terms at times, but overall I enjoyed the book. The narration held a personal touch that added to the feeling of the emotions and love for flying and the planes. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Lost Fortune “I don't want to write spoilers in my review so I will keep things pretty general. This is a page turner (if an audio book had pages). I was hooked from the beginning. I love the mystery, adventure, good guys and bad guys (both who get what they deserve), sweet romance, a little humor, and a happily ever after. Best of all clean reading. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Minding Benji “The story is so sweet. Of course, there are ups and downs, but in the end it all works out, which I love in a book. I've just recently discovered books by this author and will be looking for more. The narration was acceptable. I requested this audiobook from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.”
Caleb’s Seamstress Bride “Caleb is determined to stay single and leave home to seek his own adventure. Ruth answers an ad for a mail order bride because she needs to be married. When her dreams of a good man and marriage fall through, her life is about to change and it all leads to a big change in Caleb's life as well. Through frightening adventure and unavoidable time together, a relationship develops and it ends in happily ever after. The narration was quite passable. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Dreams of a Bride (Daisy Creek Brides Book 11) “This is a delightful romance with wonderful characters and some adventure thrown in as well. There is a new approach as an entertainment caravan as the stage. It is clean and sweet for Christian readers, I've enjoyed all the books I have listened to in this series. Each book can stand alone, but listening or reading them in order adds to the reader's enjoyment with a little more background from the previous books. The narration is not the 100% best I've listened to but does not detract from the story. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
A Bride to Soothe His Heart (Daisy Creek Brides, Book 10) “Landon is still healing from the loss of his first wife, but when he meets Clary he has feelings that he thought he would never feel again. But Clary is promised to someone else her father is insisting she marry. Working through all of their feelings and fears, the two find themselves in a life-threatening adventure neither of them expected. Amelia Rose has added another great read to this series of wonderful stories. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Mending the Widow’s Broken Heart: Inspirational Western Mail Order Bride Romance (Daisy Creek Brides Book 9) “This is a very sweet story. Carter's patience and kind caring are so romantic. The romance is lost on Maisie as she tries to get past the loss of her husband. It was sad to see the slow response to such a sweet approach from Carter. This story was inspirational as the reader watches God heal Maisie. Her girls were such cute characters! The narrations was good. Sometimes there was not enough change in the voices of the characters and it was hard to catch who was speaking in the conversation. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Daisy Creek Brides: Books 5-8 “This is a very sweet, clean collection of romance along with a bit of adventure. I enjoyed each of the books. All of the stories were a different approach to being a mail order bride which made them fun to read. The narrator reads kind of choppy, dropping her voice like a period then continuing to finish the same sentence. Otherwise it wasn't bad narration. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Guardian Angel Files Book 2: Kindred Spirits “Though the spiritual battle between the good and evil is very real and scriptural, the author here has taken great poetic license in this book. I would consider it fiction/fantasy barring the truth of the war of principalities and powers as stated in the Bible. Having said that, if the reader keeps that in mind, and reads it as fiction, it is a very interesting story and keeps the pages turning. The good characters are very likeable on the one side and the bad very unlikeable on the other side. There are places where it is dark, but that is expected in a book that includes Lucifer and demons. Mina and Allister, and the other angels, are the rays of light in the book and keep it from becoming too dark. I always enjoy books by this author, and this one is no exception. The narrator, Reuben Corbett, does a wonder job of bringing the characters to life and creating voices that truly reflect what they are like. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Angel’s Flight “Alice Duncan has once again given us a wonderful book. The humor and mystery and characters are as delightful as in the first book of this series. Mercy and Ernie continue their tenuous relationship which is so amusing to follow along. Darlene Allen gives another superb reading. She brings the characters and the story alive with her voices and expression. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Lost Among the Angels “What a delightful book! I enjoyed the humor, the mystery, and most of all the characters. Mercy is just so lovable and amazingly independent for the 1920's. Her nemesis, and boss, Ernie, is so opposed to everything Mercy does, but it is becoming obvious that it comes from his concern for Mercy. I am so looking forward to the next book. Darlene Allen does a phenomenal job with the narration! The characters come alive and her use of different voices is one of the best I've ever heard. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Run With My Heart “What a fun book to listen to. I enjoyed watching the changes in both Tucker and Shelby as they helped one another see the value they each had. Humor offset some of the more serious parts as the characters interacted with the kids. And then the way real life seemed to interfere with the connection and trust between Tucker and Shelby and they both had to learn to give things to God. The story also addressed the issue of places of ministry like the community center that in reality do exist. I'm a push-over when it comes to Ms. Hoopes' books. She never fails to keep me involved and hold me to the end. The narration is again superb. Ms. Hoopes really knows how to express each character. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
The Marshall’s Mission “It's all there. Sweet, romantic, adventurous, mysterious, inspirational, great characters and a good story. Good, clean reading, J. Scott Bennett is a good narrator. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
When Shadows Break “So glad I am able to get this series in audio! I loved listening to them and if you like western romance these are for you! I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Brothers of Belle Fourche: Books 1-3 “So glad I was able to get these books in audio! I loved listening to them and if you like western romance these are for you! I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Love in Key West “Having read the first book, I was anticipating moving on to this one. Though Ms. Blackmon warned of some repetition because it was parallel to book 1 of the series, I thought the story could have been told without repeating so much involvement in the lives of the main characters in the previous story. Other than that, I really got into the story after Jason and Victoria left Key West and moved on to England. The narration was acceptable, though being an English buff, I noticed a number of mispronounced words throughout the book. Maybe needs some editing? I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Salvaged Love “OOPS! this English buff made a mistake. 🙂 Should be mispronounced instead of mispronounce. Guess my review should receive a four star rating. (haha)”
Salvaged Love “I enjoyed this book tremendously and am looking to listen to more of this series. It is adventurous, romantic, and gives a realistic view of Key West, the salvage work, the need and beginnings of a court system, and other points of interest in the early history of the island, plus the intriguing story, kept me picking up my iPod at every opportunity. The narration was acceptable, though being an English buff, I noticed a number of mispronounce words throughout the book. Maybe needs some editing? I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Dan McCall’s Bride “I never fail to enjoy books by Ms. Goss. This one was full of mystery, romance, inspiration and all the other things this author includes in all of her books. The book is well written and there are twists and turns to the very end. Intrigue follows Leila while she endeavors to remember who she is and Dan determines to keep from falling in love, finding all the obstacles to letting Leila into his heart. As should be, in the end, with God's help, everyone finds their place and those plaguing Dan and Leila are brought to justice. The narration was great. Ms. Goss seems to have a knack for using only the best narrators. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Dangerous Illusions “I cannot imagine what it would be like to venture out all on my own in the 1800's to an unknown place in the "wild west." Then when things turn out totally different than expected; living around with strangers, having no school building; falling for a man about to be married to someone else; plus all the adjustments to life in the west. Rumors stir up more fear for Kate and a mystery surrounds the family she must stay with. Lessons about rumors and truth and friendship are ones Kate must learn the hard way. This is a great story and well written so that the listener is spurred on to listen to every last minute of the book. The narration is very good. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Captured Heart “It's hard to say who captured whose heart but in the end it doesn't really matter. This is one of Ms. Goss' best that I've listened to so far. It was one I could not put down. There was inspiration as Amanda learned to trust God once again after she thought He had deserted her and Luke gently prodded her back. It showed how people sometimes get priorities all wrong and how sometimes circumstances and love can open their eyes. This was such a good book--highly recommend it. The narration was wonderful! This was a fun story to listen to. There was a new approach to the romance of a mail order bride which was refreshing. It had enough adventure to keep the story from moving too slow and a mystery that was not solved until near the end, but with just enough clues to keep the reader from figuring out too soon what had happened. This was a delightful listen. The narration was great! I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Mail Order Vixen “This was a fun story to listen to.
Voice of War “I enjoyed this audio so much! Chrys is such a realistic hero. He is strong and kind, faithful and trustworthy, yet he is aware of his weaknesses and failures. He puts is wife and son above all which may turn out to be a good or bad thing for himself. There is deceit, mystery, intrigue all woven together into a wonderful adventure. I wasn't sure when I chose this audiobook but I am so glad I did. I was devastated when I got to the end of the book only to find that it was not the end of the story. My book budget won't allow me to continue the series. I'm so sad! The narrator, Adam Gold, was awesome! I'll be watching for that name when I choose audio books! I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Roanoke Island Murders: A Modern Retelling of the Maltese Falcon “It seems every time I think I got a good audio book to review, the language and content take a dive into the world of inappropriate. I keep needing to find new ways to express an old issue to review. I didn't even get far enough into this one to be able to review it without fast forwarding further into the book. What can I say? I am very offended at the language used. I hear enough of it in the real world and don't want to purposely feed it into my mind when reading. I think the story was good, the narrator did a great job, and I'm sorry not to be able to continue with the book. To the author I would say, improve your vocabulary so that your characters can speak with clean words. There are plenty of those to use! I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Heiress of Embers “After reading Book 1 of this series, I was hoping for two things: 1) that the series would end and 2) that the language would leave out the inappropriate phrases and words. I was disappointed on both fronts. I won't be buying any more of the series. Having said that I thought the story was once again fun to read. The mystery of Azia's heritage continued, her romance with Milo progressed, the king's refusal to listen to Azia seemed just as unwise as always. But as I said the ending left a lot of things hanging. If you like the books and have a book budget that can handle it, I wouldn't discourage the purchase of this series. The narrator, Melody Muzljakovich, did an excellent job both Book 1 and Book 2. That always adds to my listening pleasure. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Queen of Dragons “Except for a few usages of inappropriate language I enjoyed listening to this book. The idea of the story is fun and the mixture of modern and historic ages was interesting. I don't usually like retelling of any familiar story or fairytale, but this one wasn't too bad. I don't usually like continuing series that are not stand-alone either; however I do have the second book and hope it will not be continued as well. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
The Black Sea Horde “I think the book would have been an excellent story and I was intrigued by the beginning, but once again here is an author who seems to have such limited skill in writing or such a limited vocabulary, that inappropriate language is what he falls into. I wish that the descriptions would post a warning about language and sexual content. It would save me time starting a book I cannot finish and avoid negative reviews for the author. The narration, what I heard of it, was excellent. I received this audio book from http://www.audiobooksunleashed.com and wanted to give an honest review.”
Impermanent Universe Book 1 “This book was so interesting. I always enjoy a good Sci-Fi and this was even better than usual. I wish I could fit the other book of this series into my book budget but . . . . Maybe the Kindle Version? I must include though that a couple of the characters used language that is inappropriate and unnecessary to the plot. Does the author have a limited vocabulary? The narration was great! Kudos to Jacqueline Rendell. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
My Sister’s Detective “I cannot recommend Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2021 Didn’t get past the first couple of chapters. Just couldn’t tolerate the language and content. Too inappropriate for my taste. Sad when the story could have been clean and quite good. I requested a copy of this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and voluntarily left this review”
Earl of Darby “This is the first time a I have found a book by this author that I was disappointed in some of the language that was used as well as some of the content that I felt unnecessary and and in appropriate. I will not be able, in good conscience, to recommend this book to other readers. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Gold Frankincense and Murder “This was the first time I came across this author. I think I will be looking for more of her books. She has written a great mystery with a fun romance story included. It is a clean book that I can recommend to other readers. And the narration was good as well. That can make or break and audio book for me. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Northern Lights “Until the very end the reader is take on many journeys down twisted paths. Figuring out the good guys and who the bad guys are is an intriguing challenge. It is a good clean read I can recommend to other mystery lovers. The narration is so important to me and Ms. Moran did a great job. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Hoodwinked “I love a good mystery that keeps the intrigue going right to the end; and this book really did that from the very beginning. The story was very good, the characters realistic. Having said that, I was not pleased with the inappropriate language that was not necessary to the plot. I think the descriptions of Isla's lifestyle were more detailed that needed--not to my taste at all. I tried another book and it was worse language that this one. So to my dismay I found it necessary to delete this author's books from my library even though I know I would have enjoyed the stories. The narrator, Tom Lennon did do a good job of portraying the characters just as I would have pictured them. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
The Lolita Conspiracy “I read the Harry Starke book 12 and was intrigued, but the language was not to my taste. I decided to try this book, but the language was just as inappropriate and more of it. So I did not finish this book, though the story started out intriguing. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Dante’s Gift “I absolutely loved this book! It was really two love stories in one. So well written. The characters are wonderful and come to life with Tom Jordan's narration. I especially was enraptured with Nonna. Her sweet way of helping Katie realize how much she loved Dom and what is really important in life and love. Dom is so "Italian" and romantic. His interaction with Dante, his surprise Christmas gift, his patients with Katie, all made up a wonderful man. This is one of those books I probably will go back and listen to again one day. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Merry Christmas, Henry “This was a short story, but sweet and romantic fantasy. The end was perfect. Tom Jordan did a great job of narrating. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Paper Love “I am getting to like Aubrey Wynne more with every book I read that she has written. This one is so sweet and romantic. Ben and Joss are so fun to follow through their meeting and romance. The humor is dry and more than once I found myself chuckling as I listened. Looking forward to finding more of Ms. Wynne's books I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
For the Love of Laura Beth “You need to have a strong heart to read this one. There is so much love and so much tragedy; there is so much happiness and so much sorrow. But that is what life is all about for most people. This book brought me to tears and made me smile. It is also an illustration of how faith and trust in the Lord is the only way to have the strength to deal with life. Be prepared for a wonderful journey. The narration by Sara K. Sheckells was very good. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Rhapsody and Rebellion “I have just recently become acquainted with this author, Aubrey Wynne and I must say I am impressed. I love the way she weaves history into this story. The romance is not "mushy" but sweet and realistic. There is excitement and love and loyalty; lines to be drawn and decisions about the side to be taken. Good book if you like historical novels. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review”
Border Love “I've always felt compassion for the illegal immigrants trying to enter our country while at the same time I hold high regard for the laws of our country and justice for those who break them. So from that point of view I could understand Brooke's dilemma of upholding the law vs. pity for those wanting a better life here in the USA. The author has given a clear view of both sides of the situation on our border with Mexico--the good, the bad, the lawful, the unlawful, the dilemma for each. She also, in the midst of all that, gave readers a great mystery and romance. This was an eyeopener for this reader as well to the dangers both sides face at the border. I never really thought about how dangerous it is for the border patrol. It seems we hear more about the dangers of those who challenge the laws of immigration to enter illegally. About the coyote's who lead people to their deaths. The drug runners who blatantly bring their deadly products into this country. Ms. Wootson has done a wonderful job of giving a picture of the border issues without entering into a political discussion. Well done! The narration by Leonor A. Woodworth was also well done. Each voice was distinguishable which made it easy to follow as various characters spoke. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
In an Instant “This book is one of the best I've listened to for a while. The story is riveting; the characters are warm and friendly and supportive of Luke and Julie in every way. It was interesting to watch Officer Cooper as his story progressed. And the best thing of all it was written with no crude language or inappropriate content. I would gladly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good, clean mystery--including my teen granddaughter. I can't think of anything I didn't like about this book! I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Autumn Blessing “This was a book to encourage "older" widows and widowers not to give up on love or life. To not feel guilt for wanting to start a new chapter. A message to families to accept and understand. The narration moved very slowly and I used a faster setting to get through it, but otherwise it was well done. Dorothy's feelings and doubts were so realistic. I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose my spouse, but I know it would be like losing half my heart. I understood Dorothy! I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
A Month to Love: Compilation A Sweet Pride & Prejudice Variation “I enjoyed this sweet story, but I must admit I wasn't thrilled with variations to one of my favorite novels. I think Ms. North did a good job of remaining true to the original characters for the most part. I tried to simply enjoy the story and put a cap on my comparison to the original. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
The Curious Prayer Life of Muriel Smith “This was a delightful and inspirational book. The dry humor was a hoot. The characters were lovable and realistic. I especially enjoyed Muriel and her prayers. The whole line of the plot which shows how God answers prayer, but not always in the way we expect, was encouraging and incited me to trust God more. And it brought to mind the many times God has worked in my life in a similar way. This is a book I gladly recommend to everyone, young and old. The narration was too slow for me. I used a higher speed to listen, but otherwise it was good. I liked the "old lady" voice a lot. Well done! I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
The Club “This was a rather slow moving story. Having said that, I did enjoy it. The family dynamics were at times frustrating. I wanted Cynthia to back off and be a mother; I wanted Ireland to stand up for herself; I wanted Colette to realize how pleasant her life was. Carl Martin was sweet and his wife, though shocked at first came around to being a loving person. All the characters were realistic. Jenna was the best best friend to the end. There were a few places where I was disappointed to hear inappropriate language and content. Seems unless I request to review "Christian" books that is the case most of time. Surely there are authors out there that could choose better language to express the story. Melissa Kay Jensen rendered a better narration in this book than other audio books narrated by that I've listened to. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Spouse Trap: The Madeline Dawkins Series, Book 1 “This was such a spellbinding mystery. There were numerous twists and turns making it hard not to just sit down and listen for hours to find out what happens next. Madeline is a great character; a strong woman, but still realistically human. I loved Bert! He is so caring and yet professional and good at his job. The only character I wasn't overly fond of is Mike. He would have been great as Madeline's friend, but I found it hard to tolerate his foul mouth. I think the author needs to increase her vocabulary if she cannot express a character without inappropriate language, which is the reason I did not give 5 stars to the overall rating. And the reason I would hesitate reading more by this author. The narrator, Melissa Kay Benson, is good, but needs to use lower voices for the men, and there were times it was difficult to figure out which character was talking. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
FEAR ME, FEAR ME NOT “Once again I find a book with a good story and then the language prohibits finishing it. I was really into the mystery and the romance etc. Well, I do not like foul language and by the time I made it through 6 chapters I knew I could not listen to this book anymore. I am always amazed when an author seems to have such a limited vocabulary that they resort to inappropriate language to express their characters when the dictionary is full of words that are clean and express the idea just as well. I don't like to give negative reviews, but I couldn't come up with anything else for this book. The narrator, Megan Carter, was acceptable but not great. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Saving Faith “This was a good example of learning to wait on the Lord and trust Him. It also brought out the realization of letting one's self become the very thing one is trying to defeat in another. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Posies and Poison “This wasn't a bad book, but it is not one I would go back and read again. The writing was less than stellar, the narrator less than I would have expected and the story did not really catch my interest. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Betrayal “I think I will go back and start this Series from the beginning. This was such a good story and the narration was great. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Mazurka “I haven't found a way to edit reviews so I am just adding this to the review above. This book in the Gus LeGarde Series was a lot more intense than the previous books I've read. Having said that, it was a thought provoking book. I don't know how I would have reacted had any Germans crossed my path; I was not born during WWII nor did I know any Germans during my childhood. I do remember my mother being very negative about the "Japs" when I was small, years after the war, though I think it was a general dislike because one of her best friends was a Japanese lady. I can understand the feelings of people who lost family members in the war. This story really brought to light that we need to be aware that this kind of thing is still going on with groups in our country at present, with many of them still promoting such plans and ideas the same as the Nazis. The story also offers a lot of positive thoughts about the people who work to stop the actions of these groups. The story of family history is very interesting. Knowing that the personal family side is fiction, the historical information is fascinating. I am a true music lover and Chopin is one of my favorite composers. I've spent many hours at the piano playing his music. Also from the family perspective, the story is wonderful. It illustrates the true meaning and importance of family and family heritage. I am definitely ready for more of this series! I should mention that the narrators that work with Mr. Lazar have been top notch! I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Mazurka “As I listened to this book I was reminded that there will always be people in the world that want only their own views and goals to be accepted by others. They are willing to do anything and go to any lengths to eliminate those who are different or disagree with them. Philosophies such as those have started wars, killed millions and are slow to fade away. This story was a good example of that and though it was fiction it was a good illustration of what happens even today. I was reminded of what is going on in our country even now in 2020. May God protect us from repeating history! I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Don’t Let the Wind Catch You “I was a little disappointed that this book had more than usual usage of inappropriate language and some content that was not to my liking. However overall it was fun and the narration once again was superb. I always feel as though the narrator can make or break a good book for listening. The characters were true to form from the other books in the series; the adventure and mystery ever present; and I love the detail about the lives and times of the 60's. Those were my high school years so I was drawn into some fun memories. Ready for the next book in the series! I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Voodoo Summer: a Gus LeGarde Mystery “The story is different; the adventure is different; some of the characters are different; the events are different; but the story, excitement, the thrill of the adventure, all of the characters, the mystery throughout the story, the life events, are all the same as always, making the book (audio) as wonderful as all the rest. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Murder on the Brewster Flats “It seems Gus and Camille cannot seem to avoid adventure even on vacation. This is another great mystery. The two vacationers put their heads and skills together to unravel a centuries old mystery and a family feud that has lingered through several generations. Characters from some of his other books are introduced here as well. Just enough tease that it means there are more spellbinding mysteries in my future. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
In Plain Sight “This is one of the best Civil War stories I've read. I love historical novels and do recommend this book for the rest of you lovers of history. The story focuses on a young woman who gets involved by dressing as a man and posing as a doctor. In the process she falls in love but cannot reveal she is a woman. It gets rather complicated and if it had been a paperback it would have been a page turner. I found it so hard to stop listening. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Reverie “This was an emotional journey through sadness, loneliness, adventure, doubt, trust, love, and a touch of mystery. The story was intriguing and the narration superb. If you enjoy western adventure and love, this one will be worth your time. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Upstaged “Okay, only two books into the series and I am totally hooked! The content is wonderful, though I could do without some of the language. The characters are fascinating and likeable; the humor is just like I prefer it; the mystery intriguing; the narration is superb! On to the next book! I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Double Forté “Wow! This is only the beginning of what I hope is a great reading experience with Mr. Lazar’s books. I can’t wait to get to the next book! Love the mystery, dry humor, and realistic touch of romance!”
Under the Ice “This is the first book I've read by this author and it certainly won't be the last. It was full of mystery and suspense to the last moment. If I'd had the time I would have finished it in one sitting. The narration was wonderful. Lou Hecker did a great job with voices kept true to each character making it easy to follow. I'm anxious to move on to my next book by Mr. Lazar. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Firesong: the secret room “This book stays true to the excitement and adventure of all the others that I've listened to in this series. I love Mr. Lazar's writing and after I finish this series I plan to listen to and/or read his other books. Right now I am moving on to follow Gus in his next adventure. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Embracing the Lemonade Life “I loved the story in this book and for that alone I would have rated it with 5 stars. But the inappropriate language and suggestive content were not to my liking. The narration was okay, but there were times when I couldn't tell for several sentences who was speaking. I wish every aspect of the story had been as good as the story itself. Jake and Clara were wonderful. I was reminded that we all must remember that life is fragile and none of us know when our time to die may come. Live with no regrets as much as possible. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
Fireflies “This was an interesting book and I enjoyed the story. I viewed it more of a fantasy than things that could really happen. The characters were quite lovable and I liked that the family stood together even when it was a frightening situation for them. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.”
The Liar’s Gallery “There are a lot of twists and turns in this mystery which made it a real "page turner". I was barely able to stop listening to do my daily chores and listened in the evening until I was so tired I couldn't stay awake. The way Mr. Lazar details the scenes and activities in their family adds so much to the story. It reminds me of Charles Dickens' style, one of my favorite authors. The descriptions make me feel like I know the characters personally and am actually viewing the scenes. I love a good mystery! Mr. Lazar writes some of the best!”
Her Alaskan Pilot “This was a sweet read. I liked the way the characters worked out their differences once they discovered they cared for one another. I'd be interested in reading/listening to more by Ms. Thomas. This was my first by this author.”
The Eye of Adoption “This was an interesting book. I knew some about adoption, but this was an eye-opener. It was a little slow in places; informative overall. Not a bad listen.”
