Description

What happened after the “happily ever after”?

You all know the story of your favorite fairy tale, but did you ever wonder what happened after the fairy-tale ending? Well, we know. Not all “afters” end up happily. Sometimes, the real adventure starts much later….

With the dragons attacking and the kingdom falling apart, Azia must find out about her history to make changes to her future. But heading up the mountains to see the dragons is a downright insane idea.

Fortunately for Azia, she has never been one to let a spark of insanity stop her from doing anything. With a cast of characters including a witch, a seer, dwarves, and of course, dragons, Heiress of Embers is the second spellbinding installment of the Kingdom of Fairytales: Sleeping Beauty.

This is the second book in the sleeping beauty series and it begins right where the first one ended.

The queen is back under her curse and asleep. That leaves Azia left to deal with trying to solve a lot of problems since her dad is discombobulated. While the story is short, it is filled with dragons, dwarfs and shows Azia learning a key piece of information about her past.

I can’t wait to finish the last two. They are not available on audible yet, so I will have to read the ebook.

I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request from audiobooks unleashed, and have voluntarily left this review.

After reading Book 1 of this series, I was hoping for two things: 1) that the series would end and 2) that the language would leave out the inappropriate phrases and words. I was disappointed on both fronts. I won’t be buying any more of the series. Having said that I thought the story was once again fun to read. The mystery of Azia’s heritage continued, her romance with Milo progressed, the king’s refusal to listen to Azia seemed just as unwise as always. But as I said the ending left a lot of things hanging. If you like the books and have a book budget that can handle it, I wouldn’t discourage the purchase of this series.

The narrator, Melody Muzljakovich, did an excellent job both Book 1 and Book 2. That always adds to my listening pleasure.

Although this series has some components from the fairytale titled, “Sleeping Beauty”, I felt that this second book was more fantasy driven than the first book of the series. This tale depicted more scenes between Azia, the daughter of Sleeping Beauty and dragons. Azia’s search to know about her past becomes more intensified. My biggest roadblock is that this book ends on a cliffhanger also. Melody Muzljakovich’s narration is great. I requested this audio book from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.

  4. Jocelyne

This is the second book of four in the in the Season One of the Kingdom of Fairytales Sleeping Beauty Series, an intricate and original Sleeping Beauty’s daughter story. You have to listen to this series in order. Azia’s story continues where the first book left off. The storyline is captivating, and fast-paced. During Azia’s quest, we learn a little more about her past. The story ends once again with a cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to listen to Throne of Fury, the next book in the Series. Melody Muzljakovich did an entertaining read of the story.

  5. Tera Comer

This is the second episode in the Sleeping Beauty retelling part of the Kingdom of Fairy Tales series, and we watch as Sleeping Beauty is sleeping once again and Azia is convinced that the reason her mother is cursed again is because of her. With all the unexpected twist and turns that happen, I feel that the story just gets better and better and the narrator does a great job
