Description

Gracie Billings is at odds with her life on Carson Hill Ranch. Having shown up with her sister six years ago as a scrawny, needy child, she has grown into a beautiful girl and a capable horsewoman. But everywhere she turns, she’s thwarted in her attempts to contribute like a real cowboy.

Seamus Carson has practically grown up with Gracie and has always seen her as the kid sister that fate denied him. When he begins to realize that there’s something special about Gracie, his fears of his family’s reaction to the news keep him from seeing her as anything more than the sister he’s always picked on.

Will Seamus and Gracie admit their feelings for each other, or will they continue to deny themselves until the day it almost tears the family apart?

I was waiting for Gracie’s book. Being 6-1/2 years since she arrived on the ranch, it was her time to shine. Gracie arrived on Carson’s ranch at the age of 13 with her older sister Miranda, now married to Casey. Gracie has always been treated like the little sister, but never felt like she totally belonged. Now grown up, she is having even a harder time finding her place. Seamus, the 5th Carson, has fallen for Gracie, but is unsure how to reconcile the “sister” with the woman. I enjoyed this story, though at times felt Gracie was just being difficult, or slightly immature. I was very glad when Seamus finally took the bull by the horns and declared his love. I am curious to see how it will play out in book 6. This story also included much of the rest of the family, births, pregnancies, ranch life, life adjustments. The Carsons have become part of my family!

Valerie Gilbert is awesome as the narrator. I am so glad she has be the narrator for this series giving it continuity.

This is a great book in this series. In this book Gracie and Seamus has a thing for each other. The Carson hill ranch is very protective Over Gracie. Seamus and Gracie has grown up together and they have a hard time switching from friends to lovers. This is a very good series. I highly recommend this series. I received a copy of this book from audiobooks unleashed but that has no influence on my review.

Some of the middle children of Carson Ranch have grown up and are experiencing love; and, in this well narrated story we catch up with Seamus Carson and Gracie Billings, a strong and capable equestrian, who is now at odds with her life on Carson Hill Ranch since she showed up with her sister six years ago as a scrawny, needy child.
