Playing Fate “Great start to a new series! I NEED the rest of this series in audio, and I need it NOW! This is the 1st book in the Endgame Series. ♥ Story ♥ Saylor Lewis wants to make her own way in life so as not to be beholding to anyone. This all stems from childhood issues. The grudges she holds have followed her since age 13. Away at college and living in a shared condo, her resolve is put to the test when she meets the neighbors! Deacon Douglas has her at hello! Although she has him just as hard. Deacon and the his roommates grew up with the girls so they make a little family that tries to welcome in Saylor no matter how much she tries to resist. Love and heat ensues, followed by misunderstandings and misplaced loyalties. I know she is going to be a future heroine and probably has good reasons for being a twat nugget, but for this book I really want to punch Emberlee in the throat, face, lady parts, take your pick! I can’t really say more without giving away stuff that is just too good to spoil. Just read/listen to it! ♥ Author ♥ This is my first read by Leigh Ann Lunsford and I’m hooked! I can’t wait for the rest of this series to come to audio! ♥ Narrator♥ Logan McAllister in one word, Yum! Makes Deacon and all the boys sound delicious. Plus, he does all the ladies just as good. (Does that sound dirty, or is it just me?) Audiobook obtained for free at my request and I am voluntarily leaving this unbiased review”
A Question of Boundaries A Question Of…, Book 1 “Very Creative Alternative Timeline Historical Romance! This is #01 in the A Question of... Trilogy Series. This series is listed by Sandy Bruney on Audible but other sites have it listed under Sandra Bruney. HFN with a continuing storyline. This is a SMC Series: (Same Main Couple/Character Series) A trilogy to be exact. The first one can be listened to as a standalone, but if you intend to continue the series I would recommend reading these in order. Content Advisory: This is very PG with no sex. This is a Historical Romance with an Alternative Timeline. There are Steampunk elements as well as Paranormal. It's definitely not like anything I've listened to before, in the best way. Caroline Featherstone is the heroine of this trilogy, and she is a stubborn little thing for sure. Although its an alternative world, its still not far from the history we know. Women are still without many of the rights we have today, but she is determined to be more than she is allowed to be. This leads her into to many shady situations, especially when jumping blindly in trying to find her dad. Her brilliant yet ignorant father, has gone missing and there are those that are not above kidnapping her to get to him. Lucky for her, there are those that would protect her with their lives. These friends have many special skills that give them an advantage above mere mortals. I don't want to ruin any of the surprises, but just know that this is a paranormal and that wolf on the cover is not a pet! Nathan Llewellen is our hero and he is more than meets the eye! He is a widower and a politician. Nate is heading the party to drop the border restrictions. He knows that if Caroline's father truly did invent a way of communicating without wires, that it would upset the Status Quo of the last 80yrs. This should be a good thing, but there are those that greatly profit off the way things are now, that would kill to stay on top. There are paranormal secrets in Nathan's closet, as well as those of his acquaintances. Pay attention to the clues! This title was originally published in late 2014, but is actually quite relevant to current political times. If you don't follow politics, that's OK too. This was a great ride, with lots of surprises! I was so much into the story that I missed one of the clues that should of been obvious to me. I still got it before it was revealed to me, but way after the point where I should of picked up on it. 😀 This is great for those that like paranormal romances, steampunk, historical romances, or clean romances. I personally like a little smutt in my reads/listens, but I still enjoyed this tale. Sandy/Sandra Bruney has created some great characters. The world building is very inventive. This is my first by her and I hope to listen to the rest of the series. This was not my first or last listen by Ashley Holt. Her character voices are great even though at times it can get a bit muddy when the dialog goes on for length and numerous peeps are talking. Overall you don't notice much though because you will be too rapped up in the story. Normal speed was fine, however I listened at 0.90x. It is my personal preference. Lost Fortune “A Comedy of Errors with a Fist Full of Propriety! Good writing and Good story. A historical romance in case the cover left any doubts. 🙂 Book #1 in The Unbridled Series. This book has no steam what-so-ever. Its more Good Chemistry. For those of you out there that don’t like the sexy stuff but still want to read a romance, this is the book for you. Personally I would of like at least a heated embrace and/or kiss or two. Despite being on the chaste side, it was still a good story. The story opens with our heroine, Rilla Staab, pondering the parents she barely knows. They sent her to a boarding school in France at the age of 10 and she hasn’t seen them since. It is now 8 years later and the only communication she has had with them has been through letters. They were supposed to meet her at the train station, but that never happens. Her parents have met their untimely ends in a carriage accident and their lawyer fills her in on all the things her parents have been keeping secret. Rilla’s world is turned upside down, and to add insult to injury, her inheritance comes with stipulations that are made difficult to accomplish because of the secrets her parents kept from her. Fleeing Boston for California, she hopes to hide her questionable past for long enough to meet the requirements laid out in her father’s will. A comedy of errors ensues as Rilla’s half-brother Wyatt Worthington fights for what he deems is his, handsome private detective Calvin Dalton fights to win Rilla’s heart, and her best friend Jewel Inghram just fights because she wants her bestie to be happy. The story sets up book 2 about mid-way through, when we are introduced to Cal’s younger twin brothers Cole and Colt. There are a total of 10 Dalton sons, and they are all single, so I would think that all of the Dalton brude will be getting stories as well considering book 3 is also about a Dalton. This was my first read by Sandra E Sinclair and it was good. If this book is a representative of what her other works are like, then this would be a good candidate for the shelf I call “The In Between”. It is the books I listen to in between the heavier, darker reads that you need a brain break from, while you lock up the killers, clean off the blood, and put your heart back in your chest. C.J. McAllister’s narration was good. He is articulate and understandable, but a bit clipped. His voice is smooth and masculine, just needs a little more polish to truly live up to his ability Ebook purchased through Kindle store. Timeless Whisper “Sometimes Righting A Wrong Takes Time(Travel). Timeless Whisper is a Connected Standalone by Sandra E. Sinclair, that is part of the multi-author series Timeless Hearts. HEA, NO cheating, no cliffhangers! Even though these are set to be standalones, they tend to be connected by author. Case in point, the characters in the three stories written by Sandra E. Sinclair are connected. #1 is about Raven, #5 is about her best friend Torin, and #9 is her cousin Emily. So I would advise to read these 3 in order to get the most out of the experience. Content Warning: This is pretty PG. ♥ Story ♥ This is a time travel series based in the town of Heartsbridge, Texas. There is a portal there from the past to the present or vice versa, whichever way you want to look at it. There is a prequel to the series that can be obtained for free through Amazon that breaks it down, but that is the most important part to note. That and there is a woman manning each end of this portal that look the same because they are of distant family relation. Raven Eyez leaves Heartsbridge, Texas only to return for close to the same reason years later. The stress of everything is getting to her because the voices she is hearing makes her feel like she is on the verge of a mental break. Stopping by a dinner from her past causes a flood of memories and more voices. Exhausted from the stresses of her life, she passes out on a coach in the backroom only to awaken to something different. It takes a bit for Raven to realize that the town she is in and the Lance that is in front of her are not just different in location and personality. The writing was witty, but I feel that Lance's empath ability was underused. The time travel elements are clever and believable. The characters are endearing and make you want more, so you can find out what happens to everyone else. Once you start you are going to want the other two, so go ahead and get them now. ♥ Author ♥ Sandra E. Sinclair is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and I am looking forward to more. ♥ Narrator(s) ♥ Meghan Kelly's performance was excellent. There were clear distinctions between her male and female characters. Ebook obtained through my local library system. Menage: Romance Menage Series (The Key Club Book) “1 Erotic Romance Author + 2 Hot Construction Workers! Menage is #01 of 07 in The Key Club Series by Jan Springer. HEA with no cliffhanger! These are loosely connected by characters and by their interactions with The Key Club. These can be taken as standalones however there would be spoilers for the earlier ones if you start in the middle. Warning: SEX! Lots of references to sex, both in thoughts and actions. This story focuses on a M/F/M couple, so those opposed to that kind of coupling should avoid. ----♥---- ♥ Story ♥ Claire Miller + Josh Anderson + Levi Jones This is a short, at only 47 minutes, so if you go into it knowing that, then you will really enjoy this. It’s a bit insta love/lust but it’s HOT! All these books feature The Key Club, which is an adult club for all genders that frequently features Menage events. These events are run by the owner, Jaxie, who not only has her own book, #6, but also is a bit of a matchmaker. Jaxie has a trick hat that allows her to insure that the right pair of men get the woman they desire most. This of course leads to many permanent relationships! Claire is an erotic romance author that needs to decompress after some tight deadlines. It’s Ménage Night at The Key Club and she is hoping to be the lucky winner of the 3 heart key. Good thing the matchmaker is on the case. Josh and Levi are hunky construction workers with their sights set on a pretty brunette in the crowd. They want her bad, and not just for the night. Lucky for them Levi knows Jackie’s secret. ----♥---- ♥ Author ♥ Jan Springer doesn't disappointed! She always writes great characters even though this is really short. ----♥---- ♥ Narrator(s) ♥ Teri Clark Linden delivers a HOT performance! She narrates this whole series.”
Marley’s Menage: Romance Menage Series (The Key Club) “1 soon-to-be mom + 2 ex-flames = Hotness! Marley’s Menage is #02 of 07 in The Key Club Series by Jan Springer. We are briefly introduced to Dr. Kelsie Madison of book #3. She is Marley’s sister. There is also an update of Claire from book #1. Marley is a single soon-to-be mom, that got tired of waiting for a man to have a baby and took matters into her own hands. There is no cheating, etc. here, just a good old fashioned frozen pop. Her pregnancy hormones has her sex drive in the frenzy zone. Lucky for her The Key Club is having a Baby Bump Menage night. She has never gotten over her old beaus that left her for multiple tours of duty overseas. So when she spots them at the club signing up for the event, she is heartbroken that they are there to be with another woman instead of being with her. Rick and Kacey are home permanently after spending the past ten years with the Canadian Special Ops. After some major matchmaking by former and future book characters, they find themselves at Baby Bump night to claim the one that got away! Now that all parties involved are older and wiser, they want to make a real go of it with Marley. They hope she will accept them both this time, and not leave over her indecision to choose just one. Marley’s Menage is twice as long in comparison to #1, but it’s still a short. Keep that in mind and you will be entertained. Since there is a past between the main characters there is not insta love which will make those that oppose it happy. I myself, like a lil insta love or lust, but to each their own. There is a lot of story for a short, and good attention to the little details. Severing smoothies for the pregnant ladies and requiring a doctor’s note to participate really put that extra touch on things. ----♥---- ♥ Author ♥ This is not my first title by Jan Springer, and I am still happy with her smexy writing. There are more of her great characters in this one, even if it's just briefly. ----♥---- ♥ Narrator(s) ♥ Teri Clark Linden narrates this series. She does well with the added characters as well as the main threesome!”
Menage a Trois: Includes Menage and Marley’s Menage (The Key Club Books 1 & 2) “A Sexy 2 Pack of Threesomes! Menage a Trois contains #01 and #02 of 07 in The Key Club Series by Jan Springer. Teri Clark Linden narrates the series. HEA with no cliffhangers! These are loosely connected by characters and by their interactions with The Key Club. These can be taken as standalones however there would be spoilers for the earlier ones if you start in the middle. Length: 4 hrs and 39 mins Warning: SEX! Lots of references to sex, both in thoughts and actions, M/F/M, so those opposed should avoid. Trigger Warnings None that I see. ----♥---- ♥ Story ♥ This is a two pack that includes the following titles. Menage (The Key Club #1) Marley’s Menage (The Key Club #2) Both titles focus on a different M/F/M couple. There is a lot of overlap of secondary characters, with the most important being The Key Club owner Jaxie. She has a trick hat that allows her to insure that the right pair of men get the woman they desire most. ----♥---- Menage (The Key Club #1) Constant deadlines leads erotic romance author Claire Miller to unwind at The Key Club for a menage of her own. What she gets is 2 hot construction workers! Josh Anderson and Levis Jones want Claire for more than just the night. This is a super short at just 47 mins, but it does not lack in story or steam. It is a bit intsa love/lust, but in an Oh So Good way! ----♥---- Marley’s Menage (The Key Club #2) Marley Madison is a soon-to-be single mom, by way of artificial insemination. Her pregnancy cravings are screaming for a menage. When she shows up for The Key Club’s Baby Bump Menage night, she finds her ex-lovers. Rick Antonia and Kacey Poole have spent the past 10 years on duty overseas. They want Marley back in their bed for good! Marley’s Menage is twice the length of book #1 but still a short. This doesn’t keep the story from packing a sexy punch! There is a lot of stuff for the characters to work out in a short time frame, but it didn’t feel rushed nor that you were loosing out on any of the sexy fun times for the story! ----♥---- ♥ Author ♥ Not my 1st by Jan Springer, and I am not disappointed! She always writes great characters even though these are shorts. The Duo cover is definitely the HOTTEST of the bunch. ----♥---- ♥ Narrator(s) ♥ Teri Clark Linden does an excellent job. Both stories have few characters, but she totally nails them. (pun intended)”
