Description

Every wrongdoing warrants a consequence. In my case, I’ve decided to settle the score with death. Especially when what brought this on, what stirred up my crazy, was the vicious attack on an innocent young girl. Worse, one that ended in her death. For years, I’ve been plotting to take out the men I used to call my brothers. The men who double-crossed me by brutally murdering my sister.

I want revenge. I need it. Crave it. It’s in my blood. I plan to stop at nothing. No matter, if I inflict pain on another woman. After all, it was her brother who killed my sister. I figure, why not make him suffer the same way I have.

One tiny glimpse of her changes everything.

Or does it?

Maybe, just maybe, the little siren I wanted to harm is going to single-handedly slaughter me instead.

Lies.

Deceit.

Manipulation.

Gotta love a tangled web of warranted deception.

If you enjoy romantic suspense, this book is for you! Kathy Coopman’s Vindicator series is amazing, and this installment is wonderful. Chaz has one thing on his mind, to get revenge for the death of his sister. And what better way than to use a sister to seek it? Jillian is that sister, but what comes out of chaos and tragedy is not the revenge he seeks. Coopmans’s has woven a dark and gritty story, with death and hope. It shows how light can be found and life is good. Chaz and Jillian are complex characters and the amount of hurt and emotional baggage is woven intricately into their personalities. But with all of their devastation, they find solace and love. It’s a dark, violent ride in one breath and passion and tenderness in the next. The love story rises up and leaves us wanting more of this series.

Sarah Puckett gives this performance her all. She is amazing with the voicing of all the characters, but I especially loved her as Chaz. Not only does she have a great male voice, but she gives him a lot of color, from the darkest part of him to the most intimate. I loved her ability to give this story the full emotional charge that it has and loved the listen.

First I have to start by saying that the narrattion by Sarah Pukett was incredible, you literally could feel all the emotions through her voice, but her voice as Chaz was the best, I literally could’ve listen to his POV all the book, because of the way Sarah portrayed it.

I haven’t read the first book of  the series, but I didn’t have any problem getting into the story. This story is really raw and emotional, both characters haven’t had it easy, they have suffered the unimaginable and have being betrayed by the same person.

I really liked both Chaz and Jillian, I loved Chaz from the beginning, he was so protective, caring, and I could feel all his love for Jillian. As for Jillian, I just don’t know what it’ll be like to be on her shoes, she’s strong and resilient, and I’m so happy she found so much love with. Chaz.

Overall it was a great book, with so many emotions and hard situations that will have you on edge wondering if everything will turn out right.

    Dark & Twisty… My FAV!
I loved this book! I didn’t get to read the first book in the series but that didn’t matter. I didn’t find myself lost at all. I wouldn’t listen to this book with you kids around or anything like that. But It was a Phenomenal book. I know there might be some people out there who doesn’t like this book because of the violence towards women, or because it brings them back to some horrific memory. I am a victim of….well…a lot. I lived a crazy lifestyle for a long time. But this book didn’t bother me. It had a happy ending. And in real life situations, happy endings don;t always happen in the real world. This book…. Awesome!! I really hope there is another book after this one.
