If sex and lots of it is not for you, then this is not the book for you. It is involving breeding and sexy times. I thought it was a fresh storyline. The protector of the community after a mutation has almost killed of the population requires a virgin as tribute and his goal is to procreate. I loved the heroine as she is sassy and strong. Drake the protector is hot hot hot. Nikki Monroe does a great job.

Virgin Tribute takes place in a post-genetic mutation world. A dangerous world where a virgin is given to The Protector each year in exchange for protection. Raegen is chosen a that virgin tribute, despite not wanting to be. I like that Raegan is smart, sassy and strong, taking matters into her own hands to try and get out of the situation she’s put it. While a fun romance, I liked other Delta James’s books I’ve read previously better. Virgin Tribute was a fun afternoon listen but I wouldn’t reread it.

Very intense dark erotic romance. Each year a Virgin tribute is selected for the protector. this story is about Drake and Reagan. This audiobook is intense and very dark. Nikki Monroe did a good job.

Reagan is the next virgin tribute/concubine for the beast aka protector aka Drake, who protects the people in Sanctuary from the mutants. She is a strong willed feisty young woman who fought elders for choosing her. They gave her a humiliating examination in preparation for the beast to give him a baby. She tried to escape but the beast caught her. He was very rough with her and made her beg him to pleasure her and spank her. He only saw her as a tribute and concubine and reminded her of this often. I like alpha males, but he was too much. At times, I could not stand him and was hoping she would knock him out. This book did not strike me as romance until near the end, although I guess it was developing. By the end of the book, I wanted it to continue longer to find out how Reagan and Drake handle life in the new world he helped create and what happened to the people in Sanctuary. Nikki Monroe did a great job with the narration.
