Description

A medium terrified of ghosts…
An empath on the verge of insanity…
A spirit hell-bent on keeping them apart.

Logan Mitchell is an empath, and while his gift of reading people’s emotions has come in handy in the business world, it’s about to drive him insane. Literally. His ability triggers unbearable OCD attacks that leave him exhausted, and if his psychic power doesn’t make him crazy, the ghost that’s haunting him soon will.

He’s given up hope of ever having a normal life, until he meets Allison.

Psychic medium Allison Gray is drawn to Logan the minute she meets him. With her own empathic ability, she sees right through his powerful, sexy exterior to find kindness and vulnerability beneath.

And damn it if that doesn’t make him even sexier.

But a harrowing incident from Allison’s past has left her terrified of spirits, and the ghost in Logan’s mansion is doing everything in its power to keep her away.

Even if she can overcome her fears, loving Logan will mean risking her life.

If you like steamy romance and tortured heroes, you’ll love this thrilling ghost story!

TO CATCH A SPIRIT is the first book in the Spirit Chasers series. They will need to be read in the order of release.

WOW! There was a lot of emotional punch packed into this story. The subjects of fear, OCD, depression, and suicide were all written about with great empathy and understanding.

I loved Allison and Logan; their unique gifts brought them together, drove them apart, and helped to heal them. They each have a best friend, Trent and Tina, who are perfect as the friends, but I think they may be perfect together in a future book.

The plot was entertaining and the supernatural element was well thought out and woven into the details of the contemporary romance seamlessly.

Narration: Nicole Blessing has a pleasant voice, but a monotone delivery. Even as she is reading the word, “excited,” she sounds as though she is thinking, “oatmeal.” Listening could be a cure for insomnia, but is not entertainment for my drive. However, she was doing better by the end of the book than she was at the beginning. I hate to say it, but a fantastic story was brought down by poor narration.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy via getfreeaudiobooks.com, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

This book was a little slow to get into but when it starts rolling it’ll drag you with. I thought the narrator sounded believable also. The romance was sweet but I would have liked a little more relationship building.
