If you grew up on fairy stories, as I did, then maybe Aladin was one of your favourites it was certainly one of mine, this book is like Aladin for grownups except that the genie lives inside a pillbox (despite the cover picture) and is a woman. Owen is the hero of our story, he has come into possession of said pillbox and has made two wishes already and only has a few hours left to make his third wish before Cleo, the genie, is freed from her obligation to him.

His first two wishes hadn’t worked out too well for him and he’s trying to find out from Cleo how to make the best of what he has so far received by his first two wishes by making the right third wish. Cleo for her part is eagerly awaiting her freedom, should she help him make the right choice now, should she act on her growing attraction to this human?

It was a fun listen, the narration by Jack Calihan was excellent, his portrayal of Owen and Cleo was perfect.
