“OMG!!!!… Wow… insanely fast-paced, totally addictive… I binge read in one sitting… I was literally glued to my Kindle on the edge of my seat… So good!!!” Heidi Lynn’s Book Reviews⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When I wake up, I know three things. My name is Emma. Someone tried to kill me. And I can’t trust a word anyone says.

I blink. My eyelashes brush against the bandage around my head. In the distance, sirens wail. I’m in the hospital.

The doctors and nurses say I need to stay calm if I want to recover.

But why isn’t my husband by my bedside?

Why do my friends say no one would want to hurt me, when someone did?

I desperately try to put together my fractured memories, and make a terrifying realization. What I remember doesn’t match what they’re all telling me.

As I lie trapped in my hospital bed, I make myself a promise: I will uncover the truth.

Because until I do, I’m in terrible danger…

From the no.1 bestselling author of The Surgeon, a completely gripping thriller that will have you glued to the pages and leave your jaw on the floor at each mind-blowing twist. Fans of Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell and Shari Lapena won’t be able to put it down!

I really enjoyed this book. Reading it and then with the audio book version, especially as I was able to pick up on what seemed normal to me but had greater meaning when you were in the know, definitely a book that needs a second reading of listening. The whole idea is scary but makes for a great story. When I was reading it, I guess if it had been the first time listening I would have felt the same that, I wished I was reading the paperback version so I could skip ahead and find out what happens, instead I had to stay up late into the night to finish. The story is a slow build, not knowing who to trust or what to believe but by the end of the book your heart is pounding as all is revealed. The story is mostly told by the main character with the use of flashbacks as she tries to recall her past, this works well as it is also mixed in with the stalkers point of view, giving you clues who is responsible. To be honest I was still weary of …well everybody.
Everybody would love to be rich and famous but nobody stops to think about the downside of fame, with this book it certainly gives you cause to think again. I am a cozy mystery fan at heart but there are certain authors that can make me leave my comfort zone (every time) and this is another good example of why this author is one such author and why I can’t wait for her next book of audio book to come out.
Emma a some what famous actress is attacked and wakes up to find herself trapped in a hospital bed. Unable to move or see, all she can do is try and piece together her memories, while she waits for the killer to finish the job. Which will come first?
I liked the narrator. She has a pleasant voice which she used to build up the tension and fear well, as well as providing some interesting accents.
I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review
