After an unexpected breakup with her longtime girlfriend, Cate has been picking up the pieces and starting her new life as a tour guide for a travel company. Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Mexico is a time of celebration, spring break, Carnival, and the remembrance of Jesus entering Jerusalem. It is also Cate’s last training under supervision before she officially goes out on her own. What could possibly go wrong with a group of nuns from Scotland who book a tour to San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico?

Cate follows through on her idea of a Tourist Guide for a new occupation. She has finally reached her final assessment on the process of accreditation, and she is the lead guide on trip to Mexico.
Part of the backstory are the people she is acting as guide to, the other part, is her broken heart and what she is doing to overcome her lingering depression and loneliness.
Having been on a couple of guided tours, it’s interesting to view things from their point of view.
