Description

Ireland Jacobson is desperately trying to survive the death of her fiancé, one day at a time, one breath at a time, while working for her cold, controlling mother. When a shocking secret about Ireland’s father comes to light, she makes an impromptu trip to find answers.

But rather than finding answers, Ireland stirs up painful complications with the man’s current family. Ireland returns home and attempts to resume life as it was before. With her job and security on the line, she must make difficult choices, rely on people she has just met, and hurt those she has known for years in order to heal, forgive, and find her own personal inner strength.

This was a rather slow moving story. Having said that, I did enjoy it. The family dynamics were at times frustrating. I wanted Cynthia to back off and be a mother; I wanted Ireland to stand up for herself; I wanted Colette to realize how pleasant her life was. Carl Martin was sweet and his wife, though shocked at first came around to being a loving person. All the characters were realistic. Jenna was the best best friend to the end.

There were a few places where I was disappointed to hear inappropriate language and content. Seems unless I request to review “Christian” books that is the case most of time. Surely there are authors out there that could choose better language to express the story.

Melissa Kay Jensen rendered a better narration in this book than other audio books narrated by that I’ve listened to.

I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.
