(2 customer reviews)

Description

Mike Grennan is still a target on a cartel kill list—but this time, everyone around him is deemed collateral. And when the threat closes in on his daughter, it’s no longer about justice; it’s about family.

As compromised agencies collide with covert operations designed to erase evidence and people alike, Grennan, his new partner Annie Diamond, and Tony McCollister find themselves trapped on opposite sides of a system that no longer negotiates.

Loyalty becomes liability. Protection becomes exposure. And every decision tightens the spiral toward a reckoning no one fully controls.

I just finished Terminal Spiral: Book Three in the Helix Project, and I have to say this series keeps getting better with every installment.

Book three raises the stakes significantly and expands the world in ways I wasn’t expecting. The story blends science fiction, mystery, and suspense very well, while continuing to develop the characters we’ve been following since the beginning. There is plenty of action, but what I enjoyed most was how the author gradually reveals new pieces of the larger puzzle without making the plot feel rushed.

The pacing is excellent. Whenever I thought I had figured out where the story was heading, another twist appeared and changed everything. The technology, world-building, and overall atmosphere are detailed enough to feel immersive without overwhelming the reader with unnecessary explanations.

The narrator also does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. Different voices are easy to distinguish, and the tension of the story comes through clearly during the more intense scenes.

If you’ve enjoyed the first two books in the Helix Project series, this one is an easy recommendation. It delivers action, intrigue, and several surprising revelations that left me looking forward to the next installment.

Highly recommended for fans of science fiction thrillers and long-form series that continue to build momentum with each book.

Terminal Spiral by J. L. Calder is a great spy thriller. Nicholas Kennedy did a great job with the narration. The story is interesting, intense, exciting, mysterious, thrilling, suspenseful, action packed, and more. Terminal Spiral is the third book in Helix Project series.
