Frankie is an intriguing character, masochistic, strong, and determined. This story is darker than what I have read before. Zara Eden did an amazing job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series! If you like Dark Romance, this one is definitely for you.

I love when an author can take me out of my comfort zone and keep me riveted. Lana Sky does it every time with her dark romances. Each has a component that just makes me cringe, but I have to know what is going to happen! This is the first in her Club XXX series, and Frankie and Maxim are featured. Frankie takes care of her siblings while her mother is out, searching for her next fix and husband. She resorts to prostitution and is offered a contract that will set her up for the next year. But is it a contract she can keep? Maxim is a dark soul. Very demanding, super alpha, and a dom like no other. Will Frankie find the strength to fulfill the contract? This book is dark and at times made me cringe. It’s addicting and had my curiosity. Both Frankie and Maxim are broken, and with their fetishes are well matched. I can’t wait to see where Sky takes these two next.
Zara Eden is amazing with this narration. She is spot on for each character, her Russian accent fantastic. I enjoyed her performance and look forward to book 2!

I have struggled with this review because dark romance is my favorite genre and I wanted to love this book. I listened to Lana Sky’s Painted Sin series and loved it but I just couldn’t love Submit. Maxim was brutal and all he wanted to do was inflict pain on Frankie. She willingly accepted it and kept coming back for more but he was just too unlikable for me. I suspect that by the end of the series, though, he’ll turn into a decent guy but he’s not right now. Zara Eden did an amazing job bringing these characters to life with all their emotions and different accents. I look forward to listening to more books narrated by her.

This book does come with a caution “18+ Extremely Dark Themes. Strong Sexual/Adult content. Mentions of abuse and violence.”
This is the first book of Lana’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. This book was dark and twisted in all the best ways. The messed up relationship between Frankie and Maxim kept me at the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series Obey so I can get more of their story.
Zara did an amazing job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.
I would highly recommend this book if you like dark and twisted romance.

This was my first time listening to this narrator or reading anything from this author. They did not disappoint. Lana was able to bring so much depth and realness into the characters and Zara brought them to life with her voice.
This is a dark romance as mentioned in the blurb, but it was much darker than anything I have ever read before. There is self-harm and consensual inflicted harm, and if blood and harshness is no your thing then this will not be the book for you. It was disturbing, yet I couldn’t turn it off and I was so invested and still liked the overall story.
I have already downloaded the second book and will be starting it tonight while at work! So excited to see where the story will go.

Dark y’all. I’m not talking a little bullying and a little violence. I’m taking deep dark depravity here. So if you have triggers, of any kind, this books is absolutely not for you. But if you want to get lost in the depths of a twisted hell then come on over. Sadist in the true sense of the word is on full peacock display and the omg, wtf and jaw dropping wow moments are all present. This isn’t a sweet love story. There’s not a hearts and flowers end but it’s a captivating suck you in the go darkness can’t stop listening read. It is not the most f-Ed up book I have read but it’s close, this ends on a cliffhanger so I reserve the right to change my mind as the series progresses. The narrator did great on all but the kid voices. I snickered every time but the rest spot on!
