Listened to audio narrated by Holly Elise. As I indicated in previous reviews, it’s hard to review without giving story away so there are spoilers in this review.

This is part of 4 of 6 short vignettes about a hybrid shifter who is on the cusp of changing. In order for her to change she needs another shifter to help her transition by having sex with her. It’s also about the hybrid vampire Narah that Talyn hired to protect her.

At this point in the series Talyn had been kidnapped and two separate groups have come to rescue her.

The hyrbrid vampire Narah and her team as well as, Arden and Merck go in to rescue Talyn. While Talyn does get away it comes with a steep price for Talyn and Narah’s secret being revealed.

To save herself Talyn must transition but will it be willingly or by force and who will be in Talyn’s future?

While this is suppose to be a short, there’s chunks of story missing leaving the details of exactly what happened to the various characters and during important events up to the reader’s
imagination, Then too much time is spent on the secondary characters making a reader feel like Talyn was forgotten. There’s also some odd word choices, mixed with some intimate, connected moments leaving me feeling a confused reader wanting to like this book more than I did.

Very intriguing continuing story about shifters and their escapes. I’m quite fond of Marata Eros stories. Tamara Rose Blodgett is new to me. Holly Elise Did quite well. Steamy and fascinated until the end.
