Description

Gareth of Ravenscar has always been skeptical of leaving it to fate to provide him with a mate, but everything changes when a feisty little human awakens an undeniable need within him.

Though she is a servant to one, Sloan has no desire to be the mate of a wolf, especially one as gruff and demanding as Gareth. But can she resist the call of the alpha fate has chosen for her?

Overlord is set in the same world as Warlord and has some intermingling characters. If you’ve read Warlord then you see one of the same scenes (the climax of Warlord is the starting point for Overlord’s story). I liked how Delta James used the prologue as the epilogue to Gareth and Sloan’s story. I love the characters, especially the strong, independent females who try their matte’s patience quite frequently.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobooks Unleashed. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This book is about Alaric’s brother and Sloan. Gareth really didn’t believe in fated mates until he is near Sloan, a human. He believes in punishment the same as Alaric but there was something different and more easy-going about Garenth. Once a couple are fated mates, it is impossible to ignore it. Sloan was one feisty and strong-willed little woman. Gareth marked Sloan as his mate against her will. He carried her back into the room of people with her impaled on his p*nis. Boy did he get his point across. How embarrassing! I like that we found out a little more about Garenth’s first mate (who was not his fated mate). Gareth was very dominating but not like his brother, Alaric. For some reason, I liked Gareth much more. This book moves along at a good pace and I enjoyed it a little more than Warload, although both are good books.

Jack Calihan did it again. He used just the right about of dominate tone in his voice for Garenth so that he didn’t sound as dominate as Alaric. The inflection in his voice was very sexy as usual. He did an outstanding job as always.
