Description

Best-selling author Kelly Collins welcomes you back to Aspen Cove, the tiny Colorado town where anything can happen if you just open your heart and mind.

Pop star Samantha White walks off the stage and disappears into a crowd of cheering fans. After 10 years as the music sensation known as Indigo, she needs to figure out who she really is. With her manager pressuring her to sign a new contract, Samantha runs to the only place she remembers with fondness – Aspen Cove – a small town that embraced 12-year-old Samantha when she and her mother finally left her abusive father.

She’s sure a few weeks of peace in a secluded cabin will be exactly what she needs to figure out where to go from here. But when Dalton Black storms into her life, Samantha realizes she may not get the clarity and calm she’s seeking. If she plays her cards right, she’ll get something better – love.

Dalton Black doesn’t ask for much. But then, he knows most people would say he doesn’t deserve much – not after spending six years in prison for killing a man. He’s carved out a quiet life in Aspen Cove where he knows who is friend and who is foe. Just when he’s accepted his life will be a string of meaningless relationships, he meets Samantha White and everything changes.

Can a famous singer find her forever with an ex-convict? Or will the secrets they keep tear them apart? Find out in One Hundred Wishes.

I am absolutely loving the ability of Ms. Collins to take a minor character and make them into a main character while retaining the previous main characters. The carousel of moving main characters to the background while not forgetting them and moving previously background characters to the foreground is riveting. It makes me pay so much more attention to the secondary characters wondering who will be next. The true magic is that Ms. Collins manages to ensure that their previously mentioned traits are consistent with their main character story as well.

This is another great story of the ‘small’ town of Aspen Cove. My only disappointment with this particular one is that there were no pink envelopes. I kept waiting for Dalton to open one or someone to have one for him, but alas, no envelope. This is only a minor complaint, but with the first two novels they tied them together well. It seems now that it will be the town itself that ties everything together.

This is about the tenth book I’ve read that has been narrated by Mr. McAllister. He always does an amazing job. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of his voice.

I certainly can’t wait to read more about this adorable little town, but I do hope the envelopes return and make more appearances.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

I read this book a while back and I forgot how much I loved it! I think I’m finally getting used to a male narator doing a female part, because with this book, I barely noticed. He has such a great, deep voice, but I have noticed that I need to turn the speed up a touch when I listen to a book he does. no biggie though

Aspen Cove is the place where hearts dare to dream and souls go to heal. A less than ideal life has brought two strangers to a crossroads. As a youth, Samantha White dreamed of something better. Caught in a life filled with heartache and poverty, she wanted to escape. Now an adult Samantha seems to have it all. A glamorous career, a ton of money and an unmatched celebrity. From the outside, she’s living the dream, but inwardly she’s falling apart. It seems she can never stop running. Going incognito is the best way to find peace, until a past she wanted to outrun starts to feel like a perfect fit. Dalton is the dream she never hoped to have and refuses to live without. What happens when the present she left behind, proves a stumbling block to the future she’s just beginning. Collins begins and ends with emotion. One Hundred Wishes puts it’s best heart forward and step right into the soul. McAllister made a breathing entity out of an already breathtaking journey. Beautiful
