Description

Fresh starts, hope, and happily ever afters….

Nurse Sage Nichols life changed when she lost her favorite patient and inherited a bed-and-breakfast in a town she didn’t know existed. She traveled to Aspen Cove intent to sell so she could hurry back to her life in Denver. Little did she know, she was about to find everything she ever needed in the tiny mountain town with a big heart. Sage found herself in a place where caring for your neighbor was a way of life. In her case, that happened to be surly Cannon Bishop, the man of her dreams.

Cannon Bishop was a man who learned long ago that hope was a dangerous thing. Closed off from the world after a family tragedy, Cannon lived a lonely life as the owner of Aspen Cove’s only bar and son to the town drunk. When Sage Nichols breezed into town, she offered the possibility of more if he’d only open his heart.

Cannon’s protective walls tumble, and suddenly, a brighter future of healing, hope, and peace was possible…if only Sage would stay.

I was originally drawn to this book/series because it is narrated by one of my favorite romance narrators, Logan McAllister. He has an amazing voice and would likely make the phone book sound sexy. Upon listening I was quickly drawn into Ms. Collins amazing writing, quick wit and intriguing story. There is great character development for both the primary and secondary characters which sets up nicely for the series. I also enjoyed the way Ms. Collins took her time to introduce the characters so that they are not easily mixed up and their history and personalities are easy to remember.

Ms. Collins has penned an amazing story and created a wonderful locale for what I can only hope are many stories to come. I am hoping that the series will slowly reveal the contents of each pink envelope and I can’t wait to read more.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

I read this book before I actually listened to it, but I love the story. I love the whole series. I deducted one star for narration, but it’s more because of personal preference. This was the first audiobook I’ve ever listened to where there is a male narrator doing the female parts. For the most part it wasn’t bad. But when he was doing Katie and a female Southern Voice, it just didn’t work for me. But other than that, his voice is an amazing to listen to. Especially the non dialog parts.

  3. Jodene Chase

A good story and performance, makes me want to listen to more by this author and narrator. This is also a book I will listen to more than one time.

  4. Donna-Marie Liney

This is book 1 in the Aspen Cove series. Without giving too much of the story away Sage gets the opportunity to move to a new town and meets grumpy Cannon and this is their story. I always enjoy reading books by Kelly Collins and I have to say listening is also superb.
Selecting a male narrator for a predominantly girly story was a good choice.
A must listen for Kelly fans.
