Description

Kelly Collins welcomes you back to Aspen Cove, the tiny Colorado town where fresh starts, hope, and true love live.

Katie Middleton knows what it’s like to stare death in the face. Growing up with a serious heart defect stopped her from really living. Now that she has a new heart, she’s determined not to miss out on anything wonderful ever again. Escaping her overprotective parents and opening a bakery in Aspen Cove, Katie starts crossing items off her bucket list as quickly as she can.

The one item that she’s not sure she’ll ever check off, however, is falling in love. That is until Bowie Bishop appears. When a car accident took his high school sweetheart, Bowie was sure he’d never love again. He disappeared from Aspen Cove to join the army, then spent nearly 10 years on active duty risking his life to save others. Now that an injury has forced him to retire, he finds himself in the last place he wants to be – back home.

He’s determined to take off as soon as he can, but when a cute, sassy little blonde catches his eye, he’s not so sure he’ll be able to leave Aspen Cove. Just when Katie knows for sure that her heart will only ever beat for Bowie, she discovers a secret from her past that will shake the foundation of their new relationship to its core. Will the truth tear them apart, or will they find salvation in each other’s arms? Find out now in One Hundred Heartbeats!

I don’t know how it’s possible, but I think I like this book even better than the first one. I love the way it is intertwined with the characters of the first book and allows them to grow, while still focusing on the primary characters of this book. I’m quickly becoming a fan of Ms. Collins wonderful writing style of slow build up and small reveals. It keeps the story moving along quickly and is very engaging. I also enjoy how the reader is slowly learning more and more about Bea’s life as the series continues. Since we never got to meet her, it’s great to see how she is evolving as a character through the eyes of others.

This book is also read by the amazing Mr. McAllister, who as always does an excellent job. For what it’s worth, I read the first two books so fast that I had to force myself to stop and write the reviews before starting the third book so I did not mix them up. The books are standalone-esque but in reality, it’s almost like a television show with different seasons that focus on different people, but everyone else is still there. I can’t wait to read more and see what else Ms. Collins and Mr. McAllister come up with.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

even though I read the book before, I still found myself getting all misty-eyed. I love this story, it is definitely one of my favorites of the Aspen Cove series. I like the sound of this narrator’s voice, but I just am not a fan of a man doing the female parts. It’s just my personal preference. You get used to it once you’re into the book, but if I had to choose I would have dual narrators for every book I listen to.

  3. Karen Martin

I found the plot of this book to be
Heartwarming with some spice and drama to it which kept me listening to the very end.
The narrator really brought the characters to life.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

One Hundred Heartbeats feels like a kiss from the heavens. Collins knows how to bring on the heart tingles, while McAllister simply takes your breath away. Katie and Bowie are learning how to exhale after tragedy changes the course of his life and nearly costs her her’s. Katie has learned how to appreciate life in a whole new way. Determined to live every moment, she discovers that only in the heartache, can you learn the value of happiness. Sweet story laced with wisdom and the every present emotion of a Collins romance. I love this book.

I always enjoying reading Kelly’s books and also listening to them.
They take you into a fantasy world which I sometimes wish I lived.
Katie loves her new life in Aspen Cove, loving her Bakery, her Friends.
Bowie doesn’t want to be in Aspen Cove as it has too many bad memories.
To know their story you have to listen, you will not be disappointed.
