A Hero Tells A Little White Lie

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
The genre was listed as New Adult, Historical Fiction, Western, and Romance. There was a warning in the credits of the audiobook itself. I should have heeded the warning. So my critique of this story is a bit harsh. I don’t read erotica and the insta love was a bit unbelievable to me. Anyway, it was a story full of adventure and misunderstandings. Pauline is trafficked into slavery and the scenes of abuse were troubling. She was spoiled and pampered and forced to marry. He took advantage of her at first sight and although he rescued her, and later claimed undying love, it was hard for me to believe. The narrator voiced great male characters.
