Description

It’s all fun and games until someone wakes up dead.

Governor’s daughter Jane Anderson is used to getting what she wants. When a girls’ trip to Mardi Gras thrusts her into the arms – and fangs – of New Orleans’ hottest vampire, he gifts her with immortality, super strength, and a complexion to die for.

There’s only one tiny problem. Jane faints at the sight of blood.

When Ethan Devereaux meets Jane, his cold, lifeless heart learns to beat again. Convinced she’s his late fiancée reincarnated, he turns her, claiming her as his own. But when Jane wakes up dead in Ethan’s attic, she’s loud, sassy, and downright ornery. He doesn’t know if he should kiss her or stake her, but one thing’s for certain….

She is so not his long-lost love.

But Ethan turned her, so he’s stuck with her. Jane has three weeks to learn the ways of the vampire and get her license, or she’ll be staked. If Ethan can’t help her overcome her aversion to blood, his undead life might also be on the line.

Join the supes of New Orleans Nocturnes as they lighten up the darker side of the Big Easy in this fast, steamy romantic comedy.

LICENSE TO BITE is the first book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. Though each romance will stand on its own, for better enjoyment you will want to read this series in the order of release.

This book is hilarious! Not just funny, but split your gut and spit out your soda. It is creative, fun, entertaining, and has a great touch of steamy romance.

The chemistry between Ethan and Jane is slapstick funny and then truly, deeply, romantic. Jane starts out as an absolute spoiled brat diva – she is the daughter of the governor of Texas after all, but she has an immortal life now to grow up (and to better tolerate the blood she now needs to live).

The characters are all well written, especially Sophie and I am looking forward to her finding her werewolf in the next story, SHIFT HAPPENS.

Narration: My husband teaches voice talent, and I shared a bit of this book with him tonight. He agrees with me. Hollie Jackson is wonderful. She has an amazing soft southern voice and keeps the different characters individualized without a miss. I’ll be looking for more books with her as the narrator.

Note: While I received this as a gifted copy from the author, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

A adorable rom com about the daughter of Texas Governor and a New Orleans vamp that was in in the right place at the right time? Or the wrong time? This story is a cute paranormal story with wit and sarcasm and a happy ending well for one girl. Maybe a nightmare for another. It’s a quick and flowy read that is entertaining and awe inducing. I mean what happens when a girl who faints at the sight of blood becomes a vampire and refuses to drink?!? The narrator did well. I have listened to several books read by here. She’s not my fave but she does a good enough job.

Jane and Sophie are in New Orleans when they are taken home by 2 vampires as Sophie is too drunk to get home. Ethan puts a mark on Jane marking her off limits to other Vampires but he doesn’t realise he’s put the mating mark. As Jane can sense him she follows him and is run over and left for dead so Ethan turns and that’s where the fun starts. Jane isn’t what he expected she sassy and takes no crap from anyone and is not afraid to tell them what she thinks and that includes the Vampire council. Loved listening to this Jane is so funny and she’s brought to life by Hollie Jackson’s narration.

Licensed to Bite is the first book in the new Orleans Nocturnes series. It was funny and self-aware making fun of the heroine and calling her out on her annoying character traits. The premise of a vampire who faints at the sight of blood isn’t new but is still fun. The cast of characters introduces were fun and Licensed to Bite was a great start to a series that can be fun.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobooks Unleashed. This is my honest and voluntary review.
