Description

She thought she could run from her mate. Then, he lassoed her.

Riley decided years ago that she would be better off on her own, but when the alpha of the local pack finds out there’s a lone wolf causing trouble on his turf, he takes matters into his own hands.

As far as Cameron Nichols is concerned, Riley will be joining his pack whether she likes it or not. Her only choice will be whether to submit to his authority with or without needing to be stripped bare and spanked over his knee until she is kicking and crying and promising obedience. When she chooses the latter, the Navy SEAL-turned-cowboy is more than happy to oblige.

But Cameron knows instantly that Riley isn’t just a feisty female in need of an alpha’s firm hand. She is his mate, and she knows it, too, despite her best efforts to deny it. No matter how many times she tries to run, he will always chase her down, punish her thoroughly, and then mount and claim her so roughly that all she can do is scream her helpless, shamefully intense pleasure into the pillow as her body betrays her and surrenders ever more completely to his demands.

Publisher’s note: Hunted and Claimed is a stand-alone novel that is the seventh entry in the Wayward Mates series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

    ***Update 07 Feb 21***
I listened to the audiobook and thought the narration was good. Although I felt the plight of the women Riley was trying to save, it seemed like it hit stronger in the audio version. Also, the intimacy between Cam and Riley seemed stronger.

    4.5 stars
So, we have a “kinda, sorta” cliffhanger. I don’t know if it has been a while since I read one of the Wayward Mates books, or if it really seemed as though Riley fought longer and harder against being claimed then anyone else.

Cam and Riley have this intense chemistry. There is plenty of snark, anger, love, and humor. There is love and loyalty to the pack. There are a ton of pig headed, over protective dominant men. There are also submission, spanking, and detailed sexual scenes. If any of this offends you, pass on this book.

As much as this book was about Cam and Riley being fated mates, it had more content about saving women taken against their will, from the rogue packs. With each book, you get more information about the Coalition’s fight. You also get more info regarding how the women of the Coalition are tough, strong, brave, smart, and independent. How they bring their many talents to their individual packs, and to the Coalition as a whole.

After many starts, stops, and chases, Riley and Cameron do get their HEA. The ladies of the Coalition are moving to action. We just have to wait until the next book to see how the plan and subsequent action takes place.

So, bottom line: Cam and Riley – Standalone. The Coalition’s continued activity to dismantle the rogue wolves trafficking – Continuation or Cliffhanger. Your choice.

Well-written, fast-paced and steamy book for sure. For me, Delta James never disappoints. JT Farrell’s narration makes it all the more better

Riley was great! I love how she kept escaping from Cam, her fated mate, to rescue the women who were taken. Each time Cam caught and punished her. Riley risked everything to get these women back. I also love how the alpha’s mates had their own network behind the alpha’s backs. It was nice how the other alphas made appearances in this book to try save more of the women who were taken and try to catch who was behind it. The women came up with a plan for the day of Riley and Cam’s party. The book has a bit of a cliffhanger and ended before they followed through to free a woman in Canada. Unfortunately, have to wait until the next book which is not on Audible yet. JT Farrell did an amazing job with the narration.
