Unwilling to give up the man she loves, Una and Conan meet at night, in secret. Or so they think. Boyd, the finest knight of Clan McGregor, is in love with Una, and he states his intentions to her father that she be betrothed to him. Una is disgusted by him and vows to only be with Conan.
But when Boyd follows her one night and sees her meeting Conan, a lethal fury is unleashed. As Boyd challenges Conan to a duel, he has deadly plans of which Conan, and Una, are unaware. For if Boyd cannot have Una, no one, including Conan, will ever have her, no matter the unthinkable acts to which Boyd will go to ensure the two lovers never see each other again.

A gentle nurtured love kindled when they were young, growing as they matured. He did not rush her, although his animal lust would have wanted to.
However, clan laws were clan laws, and they were supposed to abide by them, even when they saw the fertility of the deaths.
He had learnt strategy, and when needed, he used it.
Yes good story, worth listening to.

Great Story! I enjoyed listening to this book very much. The intriguing and suspenseful plot line kept me guessing as to what would happen next. Unfortunately, the narrator’s narration was so choppy that it was truly distracting.

Conan and Una have found true love, but it seems that the universe and friends and enemies both conspire against them to keep them apart. There was a lot of suspense and subterfuge going on and it was hard to figure out who the good guys and the bad guys were. A good romance with enough mystery and suspense to keep it very interesting.

Conan and Una meet when very young at a Clan gathering before their relationship grows closer over time, but while their clans diverge. An interesting Highland take on Romeo and Juliet…young love facing family feuds. Narration is good but would have been better with a Scottish accent.
