Goofy Newfies is the first book in the Pet Set Series. The stories in this series do need to be read in the order of release.

Lily is an author whose husband has recently been killed in a car accident. Then the journal article she wrote for herself, accidently got put in the wrong folder on her computer, her editor published it, and it went viral. Now, she’s a social-media, modern-day Cruella DeVille. She didn’t expect to meet the vet tech, Van, from next door. The cute vet tech… but she had to return the puppy that wiggled it’s way under the fence and in her kitty door.

. I hope there will be more in this series. What other fun pets will come? Llama Drama? A Horse, of Course?

Narration: Audra Cook is a wonderful narrator. She speaks clearly and gives appropriate drama to the situations of the characters. It was like listening to a dear friend tell a favorite story.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy via getfreeaudiobooks, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Lily, a recent widow moves into a new place to start her new life.. Her neighbor’s dog keeps breaking in, and from there we meet Donovan, the Newfoundland puppies and an array of quirky characters. The dogs certainly wind their way into our hearts as this couple gets to know each other. Van had his hands full with Lily, but those dogs kept things light. Audra Cook gives a great performance as usual with her wonderful voices. A quick, fun listen!

  3. The Book Junkie Reads Miley

Sweet, clean, some humor, some tears, some joy, some sad, some of a lot of things. This was not easily defined as one single read in one single way. It was warm, cheerful, and more. There was something there that just stayed with you well after you left the book.

I enjoyed meeting all the characters both human (Lily) and non-human (Rascal, Ruby, Rowdy, Riley, Red, and Ripple). There was something about the faithful loving demeanor of the little (okay not so little) Newfoundland puppies.

If you are just looking for a little pick me up or just need a smile or a cry. Then you found that with this one. I loved it. The power of puppy love.

Was a quick smooth listen. It helped lighten up the day.
