Gertie’s Paranormal Plantation

(3 customer reviews)

Description

“One thing I’ve learned about running a shelter for paranormal creatures, you can’t afford to let your guard down. It all started when I welcomed an enchanting new guest to my plantation. Strange things started to happen. Well, more strange than usual. I was caught off guard by some conflicting feelings, and it spurred me on to get Brad, the love of my life, committed. To moving in with me, that is. In any case, I was willing to do whatever it took: love spells, black magic, and something so naughty I’d rather not mention it here. Nothing worked out quite the way I planned, and I ended up having to go to hell and back just to save my own self! If it wasn’t for Marie Laveau and the rest of my friends, I wouldn’t be able to share this tale with you in my memoir.”

Gertie may have been born in 1850 but she still has a lot to learn about living in today’s world with humans. This book is laugh out loud funny and heartwarming. I love Gertie wanted to protect all living animals including the Sasquatch. The characters are quirky and funny. The storyline is a laugh a minute. I would have written a few things differently and taken out certain things but all in all it was pretty good. I loved how Hollie Jackson voiced the characters especially Gertie’s Irish accent. Hollie made listening to the book a real joy. I received this book from Audiobooks Unleashed and this is my honest unbiased review.

Entertaining! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this hilarious paranormal suspense story. Gertie naivety was truly trying…and it got her into so much trouble. You just have to shake your head and wonder how anyone could be so clueless. I enjoyed listening to the narrator bring this story to life. She did a great job. I am looking forward to listening to the next book in this hilarious series.

  3. Jerry Harkey

Gertie is a witch out of time. After being “frozen” for 100 years for bad behavior, she’s now out and about as the most out-of-date, naive, bubbling but hilarious protagonist you’ll ever find in the South (or anywhere else!). The entire book is fluff and fun so look out for some funny bad guys who are almost as clueless as our heroes. Thanks to Audiobooks Unleashed for the listen!
