Description

When two rivals fall for the same woman, she must make a choice that will shape the future of their clan.

Bailey has given up on ever finding love. So when her best friend sets her up on a blind date, she’s more than just a little skeptical. But all doubt is pushed aside after she meets Jaxon, a bear shifter who is everything she could ask for – strong, handsome, and kind.

But Jaxon has a rival for leadership of his clan, another bear shifter named Levi who is thrilling and mysterious with an air of danger that draws Bailey in. Levi also becomes a rival for Bailey’s affections. She tries to resist him, but the allure is too strong.

Things become even more complicated when she discovers the two of them have a romantic history. With passions on the rise, they find themselves tangled up in a vicious battle for leadership and Bailey. The winner takes all, and the loser gets nothing.

But when Bailey’s heart won’t accept anything less than both of them, what can she do as long as the two remain divided over their past?

This is a stand-alone story with an HEA and MF, MM, and MMF pairings.

Fun and Sexy Bear Shifters and MMF story!

This was my first Kayci Morgan’s book. This is the first book in the Bears of Southoak Series, a bear shifters and MMF story. Bailey, Jaxon and Levi shared a sizzling chemistry. I like their story. The secondary characters are great. This is a fun and sexy/hot story. I like the twist and the happy ending. Gary Bennett did a great job with the narration. I recommend it if you like shifters and MMF stories. I loved it!

This is my first book by Kayci Morgan as well as my first time listening to Gary Bennett. This was a short but enjoyable MMF paranormal romance. As this was originally written as a Kindle Worlds book, there isn’t a whole lot of world-building or explaining of shifter/human dynamics. That wasn’t any kind of hindrance to enjoying the story. Human Bailey finds herself in the middle of a pack rivalry between Bear-shifters Jaxon and Levi. I’ll admit I had a bit of trouble connecting with Levi’s original treatment of Bailey and her attraction in spite of it, but I found myself invested in all three of the characters. There are well-written MF, MM, & MMF scenes that accentuate the plot. We’re introduced to characters who will appear in subsequent books.

Gary Bennett has an intimate/cozy voice that was an excellent fit for the alternating POVs of our three MCs. He did a good job with male & female voices as well as a wide range of emotions. I’m looking forward to listening to him in the rest of the series.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.
