  1. Shirley Forrest Nomakeo

    History Romance Heartache and Brides

I received a free copy of this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed in exchange for an honest review.
Four books included in the Bear Creek Brides Series. I read book 1 and was eager to read the rest to the end. I found it entertaining and historical, which I love. Book 2 was my favorite but they were all really good. I thought the narration was excellent and elevated the richness of the stories. I recommend reading this series and leave a review!

  2. Laura Rose

This was my first experience with Amelia Rose’s work and it was enjoyable. Amelia Rose has written about a town named Bear Creek and the people that live there and in the surrounding area. There are four separate and varied stories in this omnibus but each of the stories include some of the same inhabitants of the region. These connections have the effect of the reader joining a community. Amelia Rose’s stories are lighthearted and entertaining often depicting an almost paradise here on earth. If you like sweet, chaste, love stories then you are sure to enjoy her work. Alan Taylor does a great job as the narrator and this added to my enjoyment of the series. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.

  3. Amy Corbell

This boxed set is the first 4 books in the Bear Creek series. This is a mail order bride historical western setting. It’s not without interesting history tidbits about the Sioux Indians that live nearby and the time period this was set in has its own differences. These books are very clean romance and language. I am invested in these characters and what happens in the town.

Book 1- Matthew & Jenny we’re the focus of this book. There is trouble between the miners & the Sioux, Matthew tries to smooth things over but someone gets hurt.

Book 2- Jacob & Rosa were the focus of this book. Several miners start getting sick but no one knows what is causing it. The Sioux come to their aid even though the townspeople are very reluctant of their remedies but when the doctor falls ill, they agree to accept. This bridges the tricky relationship between the Indians and the miners.

Book 3- Nancy is escaping her abusive father and seeking a destiny she hopes is awaiting her. This book focuses on Dan and Phoebe. Misunderstandings come between them but once she faces her past it helps her see things differently.

Book 4- Trouble comes to town for the Sioux. The townspeople and the Indians work together to prevent them being forced from their lands. Edward pursues an Indian woman but her father stands in the way of the union.

The narrator has a smooth and nice range of voice.

This review has been left on BookBub , Goodreads, & Audible.

  4. Sheri MacNutt

Amelia Rose had written stories the bring the reader along to a time when life was simpler and neighbors helped each other. There is handholding and a few kisses but don’t expect any heat. I found it refreshing.

The books can be read as a standalone but the stories includes characters from the other books. So, if you really want to be immersed into the stories, start at the beginning.

The narrator does a wonderful job with the voices and bringing the characters to life.

I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor, is fantastic!

Book 1 – The story for this book is quite interesting. I thought it fantastic and a great and perfect start to this series, Bear Creek Brides.

Book 2 – I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor is fantastic!

I loved the realness of this story. Trying to write with a broken arm, then the person reading it thinking, whoa, what is happening. I loved the relationship between the character and her employer.

Book 3 – I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor was fantastic!

This book was great. Loved it. There was a bit at the beginning and I thought ok. The person is our heroine. Then the story progresses wonderfully. Then bam, this person shows up. I had actually forgotten about her. That was funny because of her personality. I loved the characters and story of this book!

Book 4 – I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor is fantastic!

This was an excellent book. The characters of course are great, you can’t expect anything less from this author. The story was great and incorporated real-life historic events, like the army rounding up Indians and putting them on the reservation. There were a few twists I did not see. I would say this book is a bit more complicated and detailed than others this author has written so far in this series, but it needs to be. Excellent. I look forward to reading/listening to more in this series.

  6. Danny Harr

This is an excellent box set. This is the first four books in the Bear Creek series. There all exciting and entertaining. Alan Taylor narrates all four book. Gina Dobbs does the rest of the series. I highly recommend this series. I received a copy of this book from audiobooks unleashed but that has no influence on my review.
