Description

Out west, two things can be found in abundance – change…and love.

Since losing her husband to a fatal illness one winter, Susan Taylor has done her best to keep her farm afloat – including taking a loan out from the bank.

But it seems that all her efforts have come to nothing, and Susan is now facing the cold reality that she is about to lose the farm.

The only option she seems to have left is to pack up her life in Daisy Creek, leave her home, and start over somewhere new with her children.

But just as her world seems to be crumbling around her, Edward Finnegan suddenly appears in her life.

Edward is a surveyor working for the Union Pacific Railroad, in town to see if the company should extend the line past Daisy Creek.

Edward is only meant to be in town for a few weeks, but once they meet, he seems determined to do all he can to help Susan and her children – and urges Susan not to leave Daisy Creek so soon.

Instead, he asks her to wait for him.

But as the mother of three, Susan has her children’s well-being to think of.

It doesn’t matter that since the death of her husband, she never expected to care so deeply about another man again – there is too much at stake for her to act on her feelings.

The risk is just too great…isn’t it?

A Railroad of Love is a heartwarming story of love and second chances. Will Susan be able to move on from the past and overcome her uncertainty? Or will she let this second chance at happiness with Edward slip through her fingers?

This is another great book in the Daisy creek series. This whole series is great. In this one Edward is surveying for the railroad and meets Susan. Susan has had a rough go of things and is in a tight spot . Edward falls for Susan but Susan is not ready for a new relationship. Edward has to try and win her over. Daisy Creek is a great little town. I received a copy of this book from audiobooks unleashed but that has no influence on my review.

I have been waiting on this book for a while. Anyone who read any of the Daisy Creek series knows how bad the mayor wants the railroad to come to Daisy Creek. This story is not what I envisioned. The characters are well developed and perfect for this story. I liked how a farmer’s widow was a perfect fit for a railroad businessman. Any preconceived notions of the ability of this widow are put out the window when they start talking about the town and bringing the railroad. Great story. Great Characters. Loved it.
