I have been a massive reader ever since I was a child, I call myself a huge bookworm. Every spare minute I have you will find me reading a book or listening to a book. I’ve had the pleasure of reading/listening and reviewing over a hundred books in a year.
Favorite Audiobook
It’s impossible to have just one favourite!
Nasty Bet: The Anti-Hero Chronicles Book 2 “I listened to this on audiobook. Nasty Bet is the second book in the Anti-Hero Chronicles and todate the series consists of four books in total. When it comes to reading books from the Erotica genre, it is an absolute must that there be a storyline and this book Nasty Bet certainly hit the spot there, making for a very entertaining story from start to finish. I actually enjoyed this story a lot more that I thought I would, it was brilliantly written and had my attention right from the first chapter. So bottom line, this book was pure indulgence and escapism from the reality of life at it's best. I'm already looking forward to more books by this outstanding author Mika Lane.”
Reed (The Love Family Series, Book 4) “I listened to this on audiobook. This has been another short but enjoyable story based around a member of the Love family. This story was all about family member Reed Love, it was great getting to know him. It certainly wasn't all hot romance & sex with Reed and Avery, plenty of action going on whilst they were trying to help Langdon and save the day. So given that this is a short story, there was a lot happening. I have to say that Reed is not my favourite member out of the Love family members whom I've met so far, but despite that it's still been an enjoyable story. As for the narrator, Robin Sitton, I thought she read the story very well, didn't put me off nor was her voice annoying. She flowed from one character to another flawlessly.”
Flynn (The Love Family Book 3) “Well I'm really enjoying this series, it's light easy listening, nothing to taxing or complicated to get your head around. I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Flynn and Mia, getting to know them and seeing how things develope between the two of them. There was a fair bit of action going on in the story given that Mia had a stalker that she was trying to escape from. So it's not all love and romance. Oh and Flynn has a unique talent in that he gets premonitions on occassion, so that brings something to the story too. One thing I'm loving about this series, is the characters who majority of them form the Love family, how they all keep popping up in each of the books. So even though I've read said characters stories, it's nice that they pop up in the other books to the series as it means you can get updates on how they are each doing.”
Declan (The Love Family Series, Book 2) “Well having read and enjoyed book 1 Skylar, and having met Declan and Olivia in that first book, I could not want to read book 2 which is their story. What was nice about this book is that I felt as if I already knew both Declan and Olivia a bit, from previous book and so it wasn’t like getting to know completely new characters. Having said that I thoroughly enjoyed reading Declan and Olivia’s story, it’s quite clear that Declan has communication issues to begin with but thankfully he comes to his senses eventually by speaking his true feelings and not making a hash of things yet again. One thing I will say about this second book, there was a lot less drama and action in the story compared to that of the story in book 1. But that’s certainly not a bad thing, it’s actually a good thing as it means that each book of the series will be different in it’s own unique way. I really liked the characters of Flynn and Trent, and I’m happy that I’ll get to know Flynn a bit more in book 3 which will be his turn to shine, but I’d love to see more of Trent in the stories, but not sure if that will be the case or not. I'm looking forward to reading the whole series so as to find out. What I also enjoyed about this story, was being reacquainted with characters Skylar and Luca from book 1, getting to see how they are getting on. So moving swiftly on to book 3, here I come.”
The Love Family Series Box Set: Books 1-4 “I listened to this on audiobook. Book one: Skylar This was a brilliant storyline, with lots of action and entertainment, very fast paced. I really did enjoy it but I kind of wish it was longer. I thought the story was just too short and everything that happened throughout was done far to quickly. I loved the characters of Luke and Skylar, their interaction and chemistry between them was clear to see. This isn't just a love story, it's so much more than that. There's attempted murder, an actual murder, a fire, guns, friendship, family ties, police protection, business deals, unique pyschic gift whereby members of the Love family can see energies on people and objects, taking Skylar hostage, hospital visits and a few naughty sex scenes. So plenty of action and drama going on. I like book 1 a lot, so I will definitely be continuing with the series. Looking forward to Declan (Skylar brother) and Olivia (Skylar best friend) story which is up next in book 2. Book two: Declan To follow shortly......”
Skylar (The Love Family, Book 1) “I listened to this on audiobook. This was a brilliant storyline, with lots of action and entertainment, very fast paced. I loved the characters of Luke and Skylar, their interaction and chemistry between them was clear to see. This isn't just a love story, it's so much more than that. Dirty Game: The Anti-Hero Chronicles Book 1 “So this has been my first venture into a Mika Lane book, but if this book is anything to go by, it certainly won't be my last. Dirty Game is the first book in the Anti-Hero Chronicles and todate the series consists of four books in total. When it comes to reading books from the Erotica genre, it is an absolute must that there be a storyline and this book Dirty Game certainly hit the spot there, as not only was there hot sex scenes there was plenty of romance, suspense and mafia mob related action scenes to make for a very entertaining story from start to finish. I actaully enjoyed this story a lot more that I thought I would, it was brilliantly written and had my attention right from the first chapter. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only girl wishing to have been in Echo's shoes, to be wanted by both Luca and Leo, the two hot good-looking twins, to be protected and lavished with amazing gifts and taken to amazing places, to live with them for three months. What's not to love about that, although I'd totally skip the being kidnapped by Sal part for sure. So bottom line, this book was pure indulgence and escapism from the reality of life at it's best. I'm already looking forward to more books by this outstanding author Mika Lane.”
Watching Willow “New author for me, but I love it when animals are featured within a story and actually play a part throughout. Well this book Watching Willow certainly ticked all the boxes as it features the cutest sounding golden retriever ever called Buddy. What a great name and I completely fell in love with that dog straight away, as did everyone in the story. Turning to the story itself, it was lovely from start to finish, plenty of emotions, feelings running high, not to mention chemistry between that of Willow and her hot bodyguard Caleb, it was interesting to see their interaction and how they both dealt with the ongoing situation that Willow found herself to be in, through no fault of her own. I loved the game show 'Match' which Willow hosts and her cunning idea of making her dog Buddy a part of it, very clever and unique. Nope I'm not telling you, you'll just have to read the book yourself. This book does form part of a series, but if you happen to be reading them out of order (like me), don't think it matters too much as good news is that each book is relatively standalone. I'm looking forward to reading/listening to more books by this author in future.”
