The First Love “I was not familiar with Erinne Bates' work until I came across the audiobook on Audiobooks Unleashed. The premise sounded interesting so I gave it a try. I loved the story was told through Calli's perspective throughout, providing the listener with a view of her awakening to other women and her relationship with Justine. The part I enjoyed most is that it does not take a standard romance path with these two characters. There were times I kept expecting certain outcomes based on reading other romance books, but this one continued to go in different directions, which I found very refreshing. The narration by Lucy Emerson was fantastic, providing different accents to the various characters, which kept the story interesting and enjoyable to listen to. I don't want to go into a lot of detail so as not to spoil the book for others. I found it to be a story that I couldn't stop listening to and I think many others will as well. If you are stuck in a rut when it comes to romance novels, give this one a try. It will leave you breathless at times as well as heartbroken at others. It was a fun listen and is one I'll be listening to again. I received a copy of this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.”
Dal Segno “I had high hopes for Dal Segno going in based on other reviews I had seen on Audible. Maybe I need to listen to it again because I didn't have the same reaction that most have had with this. I found the beginning to be very good as the characters were developed and Cam (student) and Laura (teacher) were reunited after Cam's marine days. I enjoyed them getting to know each other again in an adult role instead of a high school student/teacher role. But once the two were together, that is where I began losing interest. There wasn't much additional "meat" to the story after that for me. Apart from Cam having to deal with losing her partner earlier and having to move on to love again, there just didn't seem to be a lot of plot movement. The last couple of hours drug for me. Typically I don't like romances that are so angst-driven that they bring the plot down. This story could have used a little more angst to drive things forward. The narration was ok, but there were times where it would have helped for the narration tone and pace to change with where things were in the story. I couldn't tell much difference between the characters in a bar to them being in bed. It all sounded the same. I received a copy of this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.”
What The F*ck Just Happened?: Stories From the Supermarket “This is a good quick audiobook with some amusing anecdotes from the author's time working in various supermarkets. Each story is short and has some mild humor to it. There are some that are a bit gross, but I imagine these actually occurred. It is like listening to stories from People of Walmart. I received a free copy of this audiobook for review purposes from Audiobooks Unleashed.”
Becoming (An LA Lovers Book) “This is the first work from Jourdyn Kelly I have listened to, but it will definitely not be the last. This was a fantastic story from start to finish. I'm sometimes leary of how a BDSM story will play itself out, especially when emotions and relationships come into play. The main characters in this story are both broken women due to different circumstances. Through their attraction at a BDSM club, their relationship begins and develops into a strong and loving relationship. The characters are well developed and the story covers several different periods through their relationship. It isn't a one-note story, which made me want to continue to listen for hours at a time. The sex scenes are hot between the two women, showing the loving side of a dom/sub relationship. This is definitely an enjoyable audiobook from start to finish and one I highly recommend. I received a reviewer copy of this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.”
The Girl at the Museum: (Transsexual Erotica, Shemale on Female, Lesbian Romance) “The Girl at the Museum was just not my cup of tea. It had nothing to do with a trans character being in the story. I actually was looking forward to that from the description. The story just seemed very rushed with choppy dialogue. The narration did not seem right for the story. The voices were not done very well. The reading was not smooth which took me out of the story in numerous places. This just wasn't one that I enjoyed.”
Fake Boyfriend “I absolutely loved this audiobook! The story is pretty straight-forward...Sarah is the new girl in town after her mother marries a new man. Her step-sister is part of the "in" crowd and is less than happy that she has a new family member. Sarah is harassed on her first day, so she goes to someone who looks like a tough guy, Gage, and pays for him to be her fake boyfriend to help her. Over time, they develop very real feelings for each other. The story was well-paced and the narration was perfect. Kelena Schubert did a great job in giving a voice to Sarah and to her confusing feelings as she gets to know Gage. This is a wonderful YA romance that I will be listening to again.”
The Good Girl “I loved this audiobook! The story is hot from the very beginning and continues throughout. I loved the way the relationship between the two women developed over time into something more than sex, but with domination remaining a focal point of their relationship. It is told completely from the perspective of one of the women. It would be interesting to see this story told from the opposite side to get the full picture. This is one I will listen to again.”
